Smile Tuffmail storage increase & more

Great news ... for me at least..

Just had my Tuffmail renewal invoice and my storage allowance has gone up from 512MB to 2GB for the same $24/year.

Sent an email to support to check and had a quick response from John Capo confirming it and that there are other changes afoot, including 2FA and new servers.

Good news all round, IMHO...

I just signed up for an account at tuffmail.com. I am impressed by the multitude of setup options available, by the flexibility of the setup and let me say it just works.

Very fast email delivery, easy to setup, the latest Roundcube available, the price is good considering unlimited domains and unlimited email addresses, and the support reply very fast and they are very friendly.

I am glad I found this provider, my primary email accounts are now powered by tuffmail

Horde 4.2 will be obsolete on 2019-09-01.
There's a newer version - a little hidden at the moment - available: https://horde.mxes.net/login.php

Paying for Tuffmail

What's the procedure for paying?

In their FAQ's I found:

Quote:
We will email you an invoice a few weeks after signup. We accept American Express, Discovercard, Mastercard, Visa, and Paypal. Larger business accounts may pay by check.
Their user agreement also says:

Quote:
If You use a credit card to make payment and select the recurring billing option, we will store the credit card details.
When opening accounts with, for example, FastMail or Runbox, you may purchase accounts for multiple years, and they also offer a form of auto-recur subscription - how does Tuffmail charge?

I pay yearly with PayPal. Do you want to pay for multiple years? I am sure that is possible.

When you chose that option to pay, does it automatically default to an auto-recur with PayPal, or would the Tuffmail account automatically expire after a year if it wasn't renewed by making another payment?

I have experience with other providers that have automatically defaulted to an auto-recur (which I do not particularly like), so that I had to go to my credit card or PayPal account to manually cancel the auto-recur.

You’re getting every time an invoice. It is not automatically debited. I can’t remember exactly at the moment if you can change then the payment type. Then you have to wait until 25/8 . But, again, I think support at tuffmail.net is very flexible in this.

I've signed up for a trial account, and have enabled 2FA on both the account manager and the Roundcube login.

But for IMAP on my smartphone, I cannot see if it's possible to create an app specific password.

Have I missed something?

This is mentioned in Tuffmail Email Hosting Features:

Quote:
Configurable per folder auto-purge (auto-delete)
Set a time in days after which messages older than that time are automatically deleted from the folder.
But I cannot find this option anywhere.
