Downloading attachments with the Android app
Hi everyone,
I seem to be unable to download any email attachments using the Fastmail Android app. I'm completely unable to click the "download" link at all - it's as if it isn't even there. I can however click the "View" link, which attempts to open a link in a browser, but the page remains blank. (I'm using a Nexus5 with the latest version of Kitkat.) Has anyone else here experienced this problem? |

Pretty much the same for me. The Download link is not active. For me the view link launches my default browser (Dolphin) which offers an option to download the file. The browser downloads the file, in this case a PDF, to my Downloads folder where it can be viewed via a separate app.

Oh ok, so this behaviour is normal then. Thanks for the confirmation!

Well I'm not sure what you mean by 'normal'. The fact that the Download button is not operational isn't normal and should be considered a FastMail or Android bug. Or maybe you mean that I'm seeing what you're seeing.

I am having the same problem and just posted a message for help in the forum and created a ticket for Fastmail support.
The Fastmail app is from the Google Play Store and is version 1.05.04, the Android version is 5.0. This is very infuriating and I will probably not purchase another tablet anytime soon if this cannot be fixed. My tablet is a RCA 10 Viking Pro model RCT6303W87 DK. It normally sells at Walmart for $145.00 |

I have a Galaxy Note 4, Android 5.1.1, and I can confirm the attachment download button does NOT work. If there is a "View" button, that DOES work, but "Download" does NOT.

This is a known bug. It's a curious timing issue between the tap and taking action. We sort of understand it but haven't been able to pin it down properly. We'll keep trying.
