Android Chrome user feature - notifications
Hi, I use Fastmail on Android using the Google Chrome browser "Add to home screen" feature. This allows me to run Fastmail as if it is it's own app.
Chrome and Lollipop+ supports notifications from web pages (it works well with m.facebook.com). Is there a way to include this functionality in the mobile web version of Fastmail? If this doesn't make any sense let me know and I'll try to describe it better. Last edited by NullSonic : 27 Oct 2015 at 12:56 AM. |

Are you talking about tray notifications?
Are you talking about tray notifications?
Notifications in the browser window are pretty easy to implement, and I know Firefox supports these as well. |

Yes, regular notifications that show up in the notification tray. Similar to if you had the actual app installed. It seems if the page supports it, then Chrome for Android will allow it. Also, I really like how Fastmail web opens in it's own maximized window, which is also a feature of Chrome, which can be enabled by the developer (which Fastmail does).
