www.mail.me

It opens a zimbra interface. What is it actually? How to get a @mail.me account?
Sorry for such a low quality post. Actually I've no idea.

The cool thing is that google seems to have nothing on it?
How did you find out that it even existed? Sorry not being able to help!

Ooops I did not pay full attention, Mistook mail.me with mail.me.com sorry

My wild guess is that it is the now scrapped Mobile version of ICloud
the mobile enter for ICloud that has been disbanded something.

They wrote about it recently. Reason I think so is here
http://www.zimbra.com/forums/general...yone-know.html

They mention this imap p99-imap.mail.me.com

so obviously ICloud own that mail.me domain but the reason you don't see any way to join is that one join on Icloud but the mobile version may be defunct now but maybe ICloud is still there for desktops? I ahve no clue one need such a computer to find out?

Don't know, me.com and mail.me are totally different domain though.
Maybe somebody having iCloud account may confirm by login.

Mail.me has nothing to do with Apple. Look at its DNS http://www.intodns.com/mail.me

And go to Whois, its registered to a private domain contact in Australia.

That post about the Zimbra forums was someone trying to connect their iCloud account to Zimbra Desktop edition which is a POP/IMAP client (its actually really nice IMO).

I've seen the WHOIS report. I am looking for personal answers, not technical.

1. How to resister, or if registration is available.
2. The login page...for which purpose is being used?

mail.me is a really an awesome domain to own one e-mail id.

I believe that it's owned by MENET.ME -- a .me registrar. Their website lists "Web-Based Email Access" as a feature of their email service. May be worth emailing them to find out.

Never heard of it but I was already wondering how it was possible no services such as mail.me, write.me, etc were operating because these are top quality domains for email. If the service is reliable and as good as the domain, it would be a real gem. The only question mark : how long will it last? As the .me domain is quite new, the service hosting this mail domain must be a recently developped one too. Unless it was a long lasting mail host adding another domain to their portfolio.

But anyways, I am curious too now. Mail.me would be an excellent mail domain.

Many members will remember that vmail.me had very serious problems that lasted for months on end and made the service useless. That was finally corrected a while ago, but in the last fortnight another problem has surfaced which I'll be describing in the appropriate vmail.me thread later today. I'd be interested to learn if other members who have accounts at vmail.me have encountered any recent problems.
