HTML or Text?
Greetings,
I am considering sending an introductory email to new (cold) targeted business prospects, with a clear and visible opt-out, of course. I'm wondering if using HTML will significantly reduce inbox deliverability...? Thanks! Mel |

HTML is more likely to trigger some common spam filter rules than text only. Remote images even more so. It may not be overly significant but it remains true regardless.
If I may out of pure obligation though, please don't send cold outreach emails. It is true that it's a nicer thing to say than "unsolicited marketing email" but when you lay out the facts it's really just a different title for the same thing. Unsolicited marketing email is what pretty much everyone defines as spam. Personally I make it a point to never do business with anyone who sends me unsolicited marketing email. |
