Should we use RunBox?
A small business of about 12 to 15 emails currently, would like to access their emails consistently via the web. Most of the employees work at various locations and use various computers within the organization and at different offices. Therefore, it is important to them to be able to access, send, and manage their emails via the web.
This is a growing business with their own domain, website, and POP3 emails. They would like to use their own domain (emails for 2 domains actually) in their email addresses. They are used to Outlook Express, so they would like as many of the features as possible that are currently in Outlook. I have been researching the various plans and feel very overwhelmed. Could RunBox accomodate this? And how much is this type of plan. I have looked at the Runbox website, but still have these questions. I need to make a decision this week. Thank you. |

Check their Business Plans page; see if that helps.
If you have specific questions, I suppose you could aslo contact them directly. |

No. I signed up for two addys via runbox 6 months ago and they had servers completely crash for over 24 hours twice and "slow" service so many times I can't count them.
Then tonight I decided to give them another chance and signed up for a third account - they closed it with no explanation. I had just finished telling my contacts about the new addy and it's closed - gone - poof - I can only hope that my contacts realise this send their questions to the old addy. I'm looking for another webmail based service and so far the only one I would trust is Earthlink. |

Hi spvic,
Unfortunate situation for diana, and I assure you it's atypical of Runbox. She is mistaken in not recommending them. They're still a great email company. For 15 accounts (as your specified), you would need one of each package and this would theoretically be a $600 bill. Maybe you should email Runbox and see if they would do a custom plan for less. In light of this, there are some other reputable alternatives to consider. Webmail.us, Hostmail.com, and Swishmail.com are all good single domain hosts, but you said TWO domains, so I will only include companies that accomodate more than one domain: Greatmail.com http://www.greatmail.com/emailhosting.html "e250" up to 5 Domains 25 Accounts, 250 MB shared storage, $19.95/mo. ($224/yr.) Tuffmail.com http://www.tuffmail.com/business.php Up to 30 Domains 12-Account base package ($15.95/mo), plus 5-Account addon ($6.00/mo.) 3 GB shared storage, 6 GB transfer/mo. $21.95/mo. or $210/yr. (20%) yearly discount FuseMail.com http://fusemail.com/services/group/basic.html Fused Group Basic Unlimited Domains 20 Accounts, 1,250 MB shared storage, 500 MB shared file storage, plus shared calendar, and more. $24.99/3mo. ($100/yr.) FuseMail, as it appears, seems most cost effective for your situation if you need to host more than one domain with the same provider. Their uptime has been higher than Runbox for the past couple months and, on paper, they'd be one sixth the price! Plus Fusemail has colaboration features which few of the other providers have (Runbox lacks them). Granted, you're getting less storage per account with any of the alternatives, but your business may not need gigs and gigs of storage. Regardless, Runbox or any of the above should be top notch. Good luck, Trip Last edited by Trip : 8 May 2005 at 07:13 PM. |

For reference, Diana's situation appears to have been resolved:-
