I'd answer you in detail, but I don't want to turn this thread into a raging debate about Firefox vs. Opera. So in a nutshell, what euroman said, plus I like the extension infrastructure (add features you want rather than disable ones you don't), for me Firefox has always been faster, and there is no cost or ad to Firefox. You do not have to agree with me on all or any of the points, but those are my reasons.

I didn't want to start a flame war either as I said I just wondered as I have used both.

My reasons for liking Opera are the opposite of yours. Although in principle I like the idea of the extension infrastructure I find all I need within Opera already. I have just gone back to using the email client too after spending time with TB. Which after adding extensions continued to crash on me.

I'm have 5 licence's for Opera so I don't have to worry about adverts. Anyone fancy a swap for a Mulberry licence? Is that allowed?

have to chime in.

Have registered and used Opera since like v3.x ... have a paid v8.x as well ... ALWAYS keep it handy just hoping that they will add support for Roboform...

and they still have not. I just upgrade cuz it's cheap to do it (I have a grandfathered payment of $5 per version, kinda cool and cheap).

but w/o my Roboform which literally has over 500 login / password combos plus my other information in it, I must stick with FF or MSIE or something else.

and I've used a literally over 250 different extensions and have never had a crash in FF ... or Opera ... so stability is a draw.

I'm not a partisan of any of the major browsers really...they all have their strengths and weaknesses and it's good to be able to choose freely amongst several. I like FF, Opera and the Avant makeover of IE. With all 3 of them, I'll get just about any functionality I need
