net.hr email service

I still have a curiosity to try new email services from "exotic" locations, there was a time (about 20-15 years ago) I had loads of email accounts, the one more obscure than the other. As that hobby was quite time-consuming I try to resist curiosity, but this one is tempting. Croatia is one of my favourite holiday destinations, I've been 5 times now and the country never lets me down. So you could say I'm a bit of a Croatia fan.

During my last visit to Croatia (last month) I saw this service advertised. It's a portal with also a forum, news facts, etc a bit comparable to MSN or Yahoo, but obviously this one is specifically for Croatia. They also have free email addresses in the neat and short @net.hr domain.

Has anyone ever used it? Does anyone know how much storage space you get, what the inactivity limit is, and how long it's been around?
It seems registrations are not allowed from my country Belgium (see https://reg.net.hr) but there is an email address where foreigners can request an account. I'd like to know a bit more about this service before going through that process.

Google Translate recognizes this as Bosnian and translates it to:

This is indeed the message I mentioned. So foreigners have to send an email and request an account if they want a @net.hr email address.

I wonder how much MB/GB they offer, if the company is stable and has been around for many years, and what the inactivity limit is?
If the answer to these questions would be positive, then I'd probably bother to email them and request an account (given how much I like Croatia). But I'd first want to know the answers to those questions. I wouldn't bother if the service has only started recently, or if there is an inactivity limit of just 1 month or so...

It's not that simple though. You can email them and ask for an account, but that doesn't mean they will accept your request.

I would like to try the service if I'd know how much storage space they offer and what the inactivity limit is. I want to know that first before bothering to write a mail in Croatian and have an account requested. I should have signed up during my last holiday in Croatia, then I was using wi-fi in my holiday resort and was using a Croatian IP, so no special email needed to request to open an account.

Is there anyone who could update on the inactivity limit, number of MB/GB storage, etc? Has this service been up and running for a long time?

I am heading for Croatia again next week, so while I'm there I could easily register as my hotel's wifi will have a Croatian IP address. However, it only makes sense if the service is worth using.

You can easily get a free domain
*.free.hr
And setup an email address for that.

Really? I browsed to www.free.hr and could not reach a site. Then I googled it, and couldn't find a registration page.

Are you sure that service is still up and running?

I checked that site and also https://regery.com/en/domains/search ; .free.hr seems to not be really free but it is cheap indeed.
But is this an official extention or did someone register free.hr and sells subdomains of it? I'm not sure if this is managed by the Croatian .hr registry.

Both Subreg.cz and Regery.com also sell .de.fr domains. I googled that extention and couldn't find it anywhere in pages about the French registry. Likely this is someone who registered de.fr and sells subdomains of it?
