Screen Width

I have a compose screen width of about two thirds, Is that normal or is there an adjustment to make screen wider? Thanks

It seems that there's a maximal width.
If I make the browser window wider the compose area stays the same width. If I make the window very narrow the compose area becomes very narrow.

You can make the Compose screen editing width visibly wider using the CTL+ key combination (Control and + key held down together) in most browsers. CTL- unzooms, and CTL0 (CTL and the zero key together) resets the zoom to default. This just zooms everything on the screen, and doesn't change the number of characters which can be displayed on a line. That depends on the font, text size choice, and in some cases whether the characters are bold.

I see that in the Compose screen the Compose app is set to maximum width of 790px (the max-width property of the class v-compose. I use "inspect element" in the browser and uncheck this property an the compose app fills the width of the window). Of course zooming in or out will make these 790 pixels smaller bigger.

If really determined, I guess you could use the Stylish extension to override the width. I would not recommend it as there might be unpredictable side effects.

I use the following css code for many years:
Code:
.v-Thread, #compose .v-Compose {
  max-width:100% !important;
}
