There are many things we pour down the drain that can cause mayhem in household pipes,septic systems or municipal severs.

Well, I try to never have money going down the drain.
Seriously, I live in New York City, and most homes do not have garbage disposals (for a long time they were illegal), so we don't usually send anything down the drain except liquids. |

Ya...I can see why they say dont pour FATS because when it cools they get hard..... And Bones would likely mock up your blades!!

We don't have a garage disposal. I haven't looked out right but, I don't think they are available here. At least I never noticed any for sale. No one I know has one either.
That said, very small amount of some of the things mentioned go do down the drain, most often that would be rice. Not a lot a few kernels here and there, like from rinsing off a plate. Any left over in the rice cooker are mixed up with other left overs and dog food for the dogs. |

I was washing my hands the other night and the cap to the toothpaste fell down the drain.... At least I know it wont go past the trap until we can get it out!
