I don't think so this was introduced by microsoft itself.
maybe just another live domain mail system. |

IMO, Email services at these domain are powered by Windows Live Mail. i.e. Someone other has registered these domain and has got associated with Free Windows Live Domains.

In what way is coolhotmail.com linked to Indian users? I think anyone could use such a domain, although for professional mails it sounds a bit, ehm, silly.

Maybe coolhotmail.com is microsofts way of localizing its portal for a specific region. Much the same as they do in Australia with www.NineMSN.com.au , with Nine being popular tv station, msn being msn and localized for aussie audiences?

Possibilty the owner of the domains could be a MS employee.

http://windowslivehelp.com/thread.as...1-6e81686b4db0 No discussions further. Internet is fulled with "hacking/hacked account" and "it looks different" topics. Legit issues are very rare properly answered. |

I saw Coolhotmail advertised when I lived in Czech Republic. Apparently hotmail.cz was unavailable somehow so they promoted Coolhotmail instead. Without any success as everyone there (or nearly everyone) uses a local provider such as Seznam.cz/Email.cz ; I still don't see any links to India whatsoever for this domain but India has some good mail providers by itself already so I don't see how a domain such as CoolHotmail would suddenly convert all Indian internet users into using this service. Regardless if it's Microsoft or not, it sounds downward silly as an email domain.

Its strange that being a Indian product ( was, m$ bought that ) really very less people around me actually use hotmail. But the fact is the saga M$ done with discontinuing coolhotmail id's is a big question mark on M$'s reliability. |
