Thumbs up CDs that should be in everyone's collection!

Carole King ~ Tapestry
Alicia Keys ~ Songs in A minor
Pink Floyd ~ Dark Side of the Moon
Led Zeppelin 4
George Michael ~ Older
Simply Red ~ Picture Book
Alice Cooper ~ School's Out
The Who ~ Quadrophenia
Bruce Springsteen ~ Darkness on the edge of town
Little Feat ~ The Last record album
Stevie Wonder ~ Songs in the key of life

hmmm, I will post some more as I think of them!

Everyone's idea of "CD's that should be in everyone's collection" is up to interpretation of what each of us think as awesome music....especially when it comes to my list. The ones that come to the top of my head are:

Anne Sophie Mutter's - "Vivaldi - The Four Seasons"
Synchronicity - The Police
Different Light - The Bangles
Earl Klugh - Life Stories
Phil Collins - No Jacket Required
Genesis - Turn It On Again (that original white album that includes "Paper Late", not the new re-release)
'Til Tuesday - Voices Carry
Herb Alpert and the Tiajuana Brass - don't know the album name but it's orange
Jim Brickman - Picture This
Suzanne Ciani - The Private Music of Suzanne Ciani
Enya - Watermark
Billy Joel - The Piano Man
Billy Joel - Turnstyles
Mr. Mister - Welcome to the Real World
Aha - Take On Me
B-52s - Whammy!

Um there's more but that's enough for now. There's too many to list. Excuse me while I go listen to some music.......

Hey mklose, was Nena the one who had a hit with 99 Red Balloons?  To my mind that was one of the best singles ever...

Whilst on the subject of German perfomers, I think Munchener Freiheit's Fantasy album was great (in fact, I named my Sinclair ZX-Spectrum website after the associated single).  Too bad it was the only album of theirs to be released in the UK (and didn't stay on release very long)...

Take it easy. :-)

These should be in everyone's collection although they are not for everyone. Be careful.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds "From Her To Eternity"
Joy Division "Closer"
Captain Beefheart "Ice Cream For Crow"
Residents "Commercial Album"
Tom Waits "Bone Machine"
Frank Zappa "Absolutely Free"

Ornette Coleman "Free Jazz"
John Coltrane "Stellar Regions"
Joe McPhee "Oleo And A Future Retrospective"
Pharoah Sanders "Karma"
Cecil Taylor "Unit Structures"

I grew up with a ZX Spectrum, got one when I was 8, now 20 years ago. I had ditched the C64 previously to that because it was impossible to program. The ZX Sepctrum had a much nicer basic.
With 10, I learnt Z80 assembler code, I thinjk that was just after upgrading it to a Plus (you could order a new case) got my 128K when I was 12.
Microdrives - how cool - 80K on a cartridge, and my AMX mouse which I got for my 11th birthday and must have cost like 40 or 50 UK pounds back then!

Great computer! Still have it in the basement.

I know, off topic, LOL.
