All buses cancelled in London today , very few underground trains and not many overground.

M4 and M25 closed or restricted. One hour to travel 15 miles. Snow getting worse. So I turned around and went back home. Not a bad day so far.

Day off in East Sussex as well - maybe 8 inches of snow. No buses, all train disrupted

Yep, madness! Just measured 10 inches in SWLondon. Still can't believe we're this unprepared though. Pathetic!

Heavy snow just started up again. 350 schools closed around where I live, others closing early.

Oh, no post either. Wasn't there something about always getting through, "through wind and rain and snow"? Or is that a song lyric?

I live in the Great White North, and we are sick of our snow......

Spring can come anytime now, pleaseeeeee!

According to the groundhog, we are in for another 6 weeks of this stuff.... eeek..

As a mom of 5, I love the seasons that don't require boots, boots, scarves, gloves, (mitttens), hats.... it makes getting 5 kids organized and out the door for school much easier in the morning when I can pack those items away for another year....

Susan.

They always announce on the UK news how many millions/billions businesses have lost because of this. Some rich people have not got that bit richer on one day, that's really sad, it must be a terrible burden for them.

So, they shut the Severn bridge today to stop the ice underneath it from falling onto the windscreens of the cars passing beneath it. The detour adds an approx. extra 100 miles to travellers journey.

So, why shut the bridge and not shut the road that runs beneath the bridge???

Edit:
Ah! They've clarified, it was the ice from the structure of the bridge falling onto vehicles on the bridge itself !
