New for me: Maximising a window!

Ok, thought I'd share this with you since I only came across this the other week!!!

Double clicking the title bar of a window in MS-Windoze maximises the window. I always have used the box next to the "X".

I've clicked on the title bar and held it there to move windows about but never double clicked one. Is this news to you?

Also, if you doubleclick the title bar when it is maximized, the window will go back to the original size. Essentially double-clicking the title bar is the same as clicking on the Restore/Maximize button on a window

Heh. Not really. Found out about it some years ago through my 1391 pages thick book called "Windows 98 Secrets". If you ever feel like knowing EVERYTHING there is to know about this OS, I recommend you go get it. There's nothing so far that I couldn't find in there, almost like the "Hitchhikers guide to Windows"

Don't know (yet). I'll check the site of the publisher. Please hold.

A great site to check out for Windows tips and little tweaks is Annoyances.org.

One of my favorite timesavers: <alt> + <left mouse click> to display a file's properties.

I found something on Ebay last night, before my dad decided to shut down his PC (effectively killing my connection). It's not by the same author, though. Just do a google search on "windows xp secrets" and you should find it.

One of my favourite in XP is Ctrl+Shift+Enter. It will automatically fill in the http:// and the .com part. so I will only have to type yahoo or ebay into the address bar... It works best with F6 key which highlights the address in the address bar... (press F6, type in ebay, press Ctrl+shift+Enter)...
