Charges and changes coming to Gandi mail

The quote below is from a service update email from Gandi received yesterday.

To ensure we can maintain the highest standards in the future we will stop free mailboxes beyond the first year, and price it at £2.99 per month for standard mailboxes and £5.99 per month for premium mailboxes and we will expand the e-mail offering with:

• More storage space for your mailbox
• Backups and datacentre redundancy for disaster recovery
• Better anti-spam and anti-virus protection
• Mailbox search
• Strong mail server security

I wonder if it's related to Gandi's recent "merge" with Total Web Solutions. According to a Hacker News discussion, TWS has a reputation for acquiring companies and then raising their prices.

Their website here in the USA doesn't show that change yet. I wonder if the pricing will be regional?

I can't see it on the website here (UK) either. It was described in an email update. That's not, of course, to say the pricing might not be regional.
