Trew,

You can use a spell checker to check your spelling. If you are using Firefox, Spellbound extension works well. If you are using Internet Explorer, iespell works.

Let me get this clear. You have 300 Gawab accounts of 1GB each? And you are boasting about this on EMD where a Gawab sometimes read the posts?

1 Yahoo.com (throwaway registration spam catcher, via IE)
1 Yahoo.ca (sometimes I iScribe POP -- , Firefox -- most important)
1 Yahoo.co.uk (science mag subscriptions - via k-Meleon)
1 Phreaker.net (HotPOP funnel to Yahoo.com)
1 Gmail (Ffx, when I order online & want quick confirms)
1 Promptpost (for my Pocket Loox & WebISMail 2.1 IMAP)
1 Hotmail (cuz it helps with MS stuff)
I use mail clients ever less and less, preferring to compose in Microsoft One Note and then paste into a webmail compose space. And there's the eWebMail Color & Graphics extension for Firefox that further enhances the Yahoo.ca usability. Having now discovered wap.oa.yahoo.com and how quick and easy that makes PDA mail still further increases my Y! use.

Just throwing in a comment.

How much webmail accounts do you have ?
If you are talking e-mail accounts, I have lots.

If you are talking webmail only, I have none. If it doesn't have POP, IMAP, or at least Forwarding, then I don't want it.

I mostly have web-based emails because I want to be able to check them anywhere, although I only use computer at home (for now, who knows if I got a job or travelling somewhere?). on top of my head, I think I had less than 10 accounts (down from 15 that I had 3 years ago)... yahoo, bb, netzero & juno (both free), myrealbox, excite, hotmail, netscape, from my isp (can go web or off), operamail (abandoned, too slow and it's hard to send an email), and a few more that I can't remember now. I choose different email for different purposes, as most of you guys do, but I have to have at least 2 for each purpose (1 main and the other 1 would be the backup if the main fails).

That is why I try to have both web and pop

What concerns me is my hording tendency, somebody tell of a new service and bam wham I feel for collecting that one too.

What to think of this new one. They have been active for one whole year and Google had not one single review on them. Isn't that surprizing?

evenmail.com with both free imap and free pop and web interface. only ten meg though. Not sure how many days of inactivity but the usual seems to be 30/45/60/90/... so most likely they have one such limit too.

How reliable would they be as newcomer? They need to have a big buffer b4 the money comes in.

1GB email accounts

I want to have several free email hosts to look at that can accept 1000's of emails. Yahoo is OK. I did a test and the 250MB went a little over 5000. How many emails will a 1GB account hold before they start bouncing?

Thanks.

retiree,

It depends on the size of the emails. You have big emails - 50kb each. If 250mb holds 5000 emails, 1GB (1000mb) will hold 20,000 emails.

I only use FREE webmail.

I got 2 at Yahoo, 2 at Hotmail and 2 at Gmail. They are all frequently used for different person and purpose.

Now I have one more out of three new ones

There is three new ones now to chose among. I fell for the thinbrowser but could stop myself from joining the the other two. But I felt very tempted. Wonder what makes me soo easily swayed to join every one there is. three different lycos.

lycos.com lycos.co.uk and lycos aka spray.se which is owned by lycos if I get it. 250 meg POP3 and webmail interface. Irresistable to me. despite UES having 3Giga I didn't apply.

I felt very tempted to join evenmail but when thinbrowser got known here their 1Giga with POP3 looked too good to not be joined. Will be interesting to see how they develop.

Susan.

Why in the world would anyone want that many E-mail addresses?? I've signed up for many myself, but abandoned most of them eventually as they didn't have the features I wanted. Is that why you have so many - are you having trouble finding what you want in an E-mail service so you need to try them all? I really only use two at a time -- one for my main personal address (usually FastMail) and one for my commercial/sweepstakes/newsletters mail (Graffiti at the moment; was Shadango but they disappeared a few days ago with no warning whatsoever).
