unencrypted emai

We have a Windows server with Plesk control panel installed, and we use a separate program called MailEnable for sending emails. From some domains hosted on the server, users are unable to send emails to Yahoo, though sending to Gmail works fine.

I noticed a difference between the domains that cannot send to Yahoo. When sending to Gmail, a "non-encryption" lock icon appears, whereas for other domains on the same server, this icon doesn't show. These domains have the same nameservers and both connect directly to the server.

I checked the mail settings in Plesk for both domains, and there were no differences. I also tried configuring the same SSL certificate under SSL/TLS certificate for mail for the domains, and sometimes the problem is resolved when I install a certificate via the Let's Encrypt plugin. However, my supervisor mentioned that this may only work because I?m sending emails through Thunderbird, and since that system has its own public IP, the issue might still be unresolved.

Welcome to EMD

I dont really see the need for ENCRYPTED EMAIL. I mean no one should be sending anything critical over the internet anyway!!

Nothing should be considered safe!!

I dont send anything really confidential over email so I would still use a server that was like fastmail used to be.... (When they didnt force SSL)

I?m sure that the original poster was referring to MTA server-to-server encryption (which is now pretty much standard) rather than client level encryption.

My guess is that the issue may have to do with MTA-STS or some other security steps related to transport level security. See:
