new bug!

Suddenly when I try to compose a message the contacts field obscures the To: field so I cannot see what I am entering into that field! Makes the program next to totally unusable!
I can't figure out how to fix this problem!

The regular site seems to be having problems right now, but I tried on beta, and everything seems to work fine.

Which environment are you trying to use Fastmail in?

Settings seems to say I am using Edge. Is that what you mean? If not, please help me focus on your meaning.

Using the Microsoft Edge browser in Windows 10, I experienced no problem. Using Internet Explorer did not work, however.

Most of the time I use Brave (multiple operating systems) and see nothing wrong. I do not use Fastmail much on my Android phone, but a quick test shows nothing unusual on Brave or regular Chrome.

When I type in the To field, a pull-down list appears showing me matches from my Contacts. This list is a bit below the To field, and does not block it. I tested this in the following browsers right now in the Production interface (although I see no different in Beta):
  • Firefox v130.0 on Windows
  • Microsoft Edge v129.0.2792.31 on Windows
  • Google Chrome v128.0.6613.138 on Windows
  • DuckDuckGo v7.136.0.3 on iPadOS
  • Fastmail app v4.0.10.2596 on iPadOS
I see no issues using any of the above browsers (or Fastmail app). I would suggest:
  • Upgrading to the latest version of your browser (if you aren't using the latest version).
  • Rebooting your PC.
  • Log out of Fastmail then log back in. Check to see if the problem persists.
  • If you are using the beta interface (betaapp.fastmail.com), try the production interface (app.fastmail.com).
  • Try other browsers.
  • You may be zooming the browser window or using other accessibility features. Unzoom (usually CTL-0 control-zero) and disable accessibility features.
  • If this is only happening on one browser, you may have an add-on of some type which is affecting rendering. Try disabling all add-ons for that browser.

Thanks. I will try these suggestions. So far the only fix that works is gmail but it does work and that is what I will use when I am writing someone directly (as opposed to making a reply. I never get the problem when I am replying. So far.) Interestingly, even in Gmail the contact list hides part of the email form, only this time it is the Subject list that is covered,: not the To: field.

It would help if you told us which browsers - and what versions of them - you use

Which extensions/plugins do you use in those browsers? Do you - in particular - use your own CSS to affect how things look on any sites?

Are you using them at "normal" levels of zoom or much magnified?

Since no-one else is seeing the same, could you show us a screenshot of these overlaps (with details blurred out if necessary)?
