Fastmail: new pricing plans Duo & Family - anyone using it?

Hi,

today I found out, that there are new pricing plans available within Fastmail!

When using two accounts (Duo) and more (a family maybe) the plans are much much cheaper than those existing plans.

I friend of mine does use the new plans and is really happy about.
For me as a long time Fastmail user I cannot change to that plans?!

What about you? Can some of you change to the new plans?

Umm, I can't find any reference to these pricing plans on FM's site, or by googling it. Can someone please provide a reference point? Thx.

The only pricing plans I can see directly from their site are the Basic ($30 per year), Standard ($50), and Professional ($90). Here: https://www.fastmail.com/pricing/

I truly hope Fastmail isn't becoming like other providers that have hidden pricing plans not readily visible. If the screenshots are to be believe, the results for most new users are a significant price increase. For example, "Individual" is replacing "Standard" for $10 more per year, which is a 20% increase.

It appears that Fastmail is introducing new plans and changing pricing. I have no idea how existing accounts will be affected, but in the past there were offers to extend current accounts at the old pricing.

You can see the new plans discussed in the Reddit thread by signing up for a free 30-day trial account. It appears that these conflict with what is advertised on the current website. So I just sent an email to Fastmail staff I have met before, asking them about this pricing conflict for someone trying to sign up today.

And I wonder what it means for new POBox.com signups, which are still not available at this time? Plus, as a rule of thumb I never sign up for any service that doesn't provide clear and accurate pricing information up front.

When using Duo and of course Family the pricing plans are a 'lot' cheaper than actual accounts!

A few friends of mine did this already for their family... In my case I have to pay more as I cannot switch because I'm a long time user and the new pricing is only for new customers.

So sad

Unless they've changed it since I tried about a month ago, if you use these new plans payment is via the third party PADDLE company and will be in your local currency. So for example in the Eurozone you'll pay the same number in Euros which ups the price slightly, since Euros are usually worth a bit more than US dollars.

Did you ask FM support if you could change?

Not when using duo or family plan. Then it’s much much cheaper!

I hate it when companies only offer better pricing to new customers. You would think they would offer the best deals to loyal longtime users, but no...
