Latest Email "Account Count"
Here's my latest active email "account count":
Fastmail Enhanced, with 4 aliases USA.net (love the simple domain name, but hate the interface and storage -- everything runs through FM) Work domain email account (rarely gets used, run through FM -- most folks know my favored address) Yahoo Plus (fed into FM) 4 accounts ain't bad, and I'm actually only interacting with the FM account to check all the other accounts! Now....about the TIMING of that greatly anticipated upgrade!!!! |

OK here's mine...
I wasn't going to list mine, but I'm kinda unbusy this morning so here goes:
My most active accounts: 3 Fastmail (One Enhanced, one member, one free -for stylesheet work) Gmail (a couple for different archiving purposes) Yahoo Promptpost clovermail.net (vfemail) swissinfo.org hotpop.com Semi-active and used from time to time: Myway Bluebottle nerdshack networld.com - Good account! inbox.lv my ISP's email (only use to copy myself Hotmail (for one group I'm in) care2.com For fun or just to have or just to sign up to see what the buzz is about: Gawab mail2world SAF-email (just signed up recently) omnilect walla.com (I know it's got a gig but it's boring!) webmail.titanic.com - 20mb imap gazellevillage.com karatezone.com (seeqmail) - nice interface! yoggin - i like this too aurora-mail mailasia.com - used to be a great interface background; but they've changed it. Doubt I'll use this anymore since also they now deactivate your account after 60days no login. starbase49.com - Star Trek related email; squirrelmail; no longer offering signups Problematic or don't like: Aventuremail - I had it. Lost it. Had it again. Lost it again. Not I'm not sure what's going on. zzn.com - used to use it regularly but now...it serves no purpose Excite (abandoned for MyWay, but I can still use it, I suppose) Spymac Fusemail MyRealBox - can't get in anymore lycos - never use iwon.com - never use Last edited by Gankaku : 19 Sep 2004 at 11:18 PM. |

Don't really know how many but a here are a few:
mai2word - nice, but it seems so small now myway.com - expanded storage, but they haven't commited to changing the number of messages allowed from 1000. I'm using that as a spam trap now. gmail - nice. Beta and missing important features, but promising. The new version of Opera works with it without a workaround, too. yahoo - I just opened a new account. The old one gets so much spam that it's fairly useless. It was so old, I signed up for all kinds of things before I knew better. Now, with the upgrades it doesn't matter if it's an old or new account. Everyone gets 100 MB in the free account. I'm finding more and more need for a good online PIM and Yahoo's is great. Now the MyYahoo portal has RSS feeds. That put it over the top as my favorite portal. Better than a reader for me because I can get them at work. As for the e-mail itself, it's not bad, but it does deliver your IP address to your recipient. I don't think that's really a good thing. prompost - nice, squirrel main interface that's customized. Lots of storage and features. And of course, Fastmail. I still like the web interface better than clients. |

I went to the might.com site, but could not find an email option there. Also I went to mail.mighty.com , which is a standard extension for email, but nothing came up there at all. pressureguy |

1 each:
Address.com (don't log in very often; spam magnet) Bluebottle.com EmailAccount.com (don't log in very often) GMail Hotmail (log in at least once a month but will let it go) Lycos (log in once a month, but will probably let it go) MyRealBox (just to see what it was) Netscape (very old account initially opened as Netcenter ID) SBC Yahoo (basically Yahoo! Mail Plus) Vfemail (seems to be a spam magnet) Xasamail (newest) 2 each: ZZN (outlived its usefulness) Mail2World (will eventually let these go) 3 each: Fastmail (2 member & 1 guest) 16 each: Yahoo (some are for web sites as well; one is for YM) |

I don't feel so bad now! I can not believe someone can really keep up with 50+ email accounts on a regular basis.
The bluebottle account is the only one I've recently gained in the past year. Prior to this most of mine were acquired about 5 to 6 years ago. I've had about 6 accounts I let fall by the wayside, but these are the ones I still have and check often (i only have one account at each of these) gimail (for ebay and online shopping) hotmail (for known spam sights) netscape (to store small files) yahoo (regular friend correspondence and trusted sources) excite (for website corrospondence) lycos (to register with untrusted sources) email.com (to regiser with trusted sources) bluebotte (for home business emails) |

I have, in case you're interested:
2 Gmail (one of which is my primary e-mail address) 1 Yahoo! (check semi-regularly) 1 Hotmail (check semi-regularly) 1 Excite (mostly to reserve my username that's the same on iWon and MyWay) 1 iWon (same reason as Excite) 1 MyWay (check semi-regularly) 1 Netscape 1 SeeqMail 1 Telus 1 Mailblocks (which I bought for one year that has now expired as of this month) 1 Netster Mail 1 Lycos Mail 1 Excite UK I think that's it. So about 14, possibly as many as 18. Cheers, Doug |

I have only one account: FastMail with several aliases. I canceled all the free accounts and my former primary account at 1&1 (hosted Exchange) is forwarding the incoming mail until the contract with 1&1 ends in a few months. Everything else would be a compromise.
P.S. I also have an SMS account at sms.de (btw VERY recommended for SMS). I hope FastMail will polish up the SMS features so that I can receive SMS answers to my sent SMS. If they do that it'll be FM only. Last edited by ultraboy : 8 Jan 2005 at 07:11 AM. |

Well I'm new here but after reading this post I thought I'd contribute. Firstly, you guys must be crazy! 70 email accounts?! I can understand why someone would have 1-10 (and that's pushing it!), but any more is definitely overkill. It would take so much time to check all those account that there is hardly any point. But each to their own I suppose
Me, I mainly use one account, Gmail, which although I know has mixed views from the people on here, I find it a brilliant service, and can't really see myself changing.. well, for a long long time anyway! I have a hotmail account which was my primary account before Gmail, I'm trying to phase that one out now (although transferring all my MSN Messenger contacts over to a new passport is a pain!). I have also just bought a domain so I may start using an address or two in conjunction with that. Lastly I have a university email account which is only used for university correspondance. So I guess I have 4 accounts at the moment, though in about 6 months I'll probably only have two. |

I prefer to call myself an e-mail "enthusiast," not crazy. If you hang around here long enough to see all the e-mail services available, it's hard not to sign up for them...just to see what they're like and to get a good username before they're taken. |
