Like Susan I have many too
Why oh why. Hmm Maybe it is about our personalities. I ahve many shortwave Radios too. Many Watches. Many MiniDisc recorder players. Have had many Cassette recorders.
I guess it is a personality thingy. Only my wild guess. ok I have at least three ISP here. Telia.com Glocalnet.net and Spray.se adn a lot of those I abandoned years ago. Each of them allow 5 email addys. then hotmail and yahoo and all the rest of the biggies like gmail lycos ... So it is a habit I have maybe? like now when they suggest inmail24.com which look like they try to compete with vfemail.net both have strong antivirus and both have 15meg with pop3 and soo on. They try to find a niche and be best within that one I guess. So out of habit I feel for signing up. Is it embarrassing maybe? I'm hooked on email then? Happy it is not stronger things like coffee But I do see it from your perspective too. I plan to go down to 7 and then 5 and end with only three. I doupt that will last for long though. trew |

I trust I had 22 accounts but many on same provider so
maybe not that many different providers. Lavabit Now I mainly use Lavabit for forums but that is not reliable the software on some forums don't manage to end up on the Lavabit inbox. and that makes the owners of the forum suspicious of who I am me failing to answer their activation email so very annoying. I wish me could use another email provider instead. Gmail For my Androd phone I have one Gmail account. I deleted some 5 such or so and now have only one Gmail. Yahoo I have one account for the many yahoo groups I have. Hotmail I have one account for to have as reserve for the forum that does not get through. MyOpera com Then I have MyOpera com for the Opera community. Fastmail I have one old Operamail and one Fastmail Guest account. Then EUMX a gift account more as a way to be able to share views here in EMD when such questions comes up. GMX.com but that one I may lose out of inactivity and some 10 more that I also may lose due to inactivity. I really want to come down to just two or three providers. |

I honestly can not remember how many webmail accounts I have used over the years its been so many.
However now I just have two that I use on a regular basis. My personal domain email (currently on Google Apps Standard) and then my university email (on Google Apps Education). |

As of today...
I have ten accounts. Some longterm, some I'm testdriving.
Longterm: Bluebottle (paid) Vfemail (paid) Safe-mail Yahoo Lavabit Amplimail Testdrives: Luckymail Animail Live Mail2world Yipple, Inbox, and Luxmail dumped me for (apparently) not checking in enough, but then if I wanted to engage in constant handholding, I'd have a Hushmail account, so good riddance! |

Like most of you, I have way too many.
Do we really need more than a few? Very doubtful. Is it an addiction, or are we simply collectors and testers of email accounts? Or do we simply have way too much time on our hands? I'm probably guilty of the latter. I'm trying to dump a lot of needless accounts but it's just so dang hard. Like losing an old friend. Well, maybe not an old friend but at least an acquaintance |

I've got at least 4-5, three at my own domains and one at yahoo, one at another provider basically spam collecting as it gets hit too much for anything else, an account at Eumx, I think my account at lavabit is dead although I do check it occasionally and my mochamail address is still working from years back last time I looked.

As for how many webmail accounts I have, very rarely logging into most of them, and not bothering keeping written records for most of them for I don't know how long, I long ago lost count. |

Too much fun
Apparently, it is way too much fun to get new e-mail accounts, because I just keep on collecting them. Then again, I am easily amused
