free Pobox email address

Currently, our beloved pobox.com has stopped registration.
If you want to continue to have a free pobox forwarding address, then try our pobox.be.
This forwarding is provided by cloudflare, a leading CDN merchant in the industry. Cloudflare's email router has handled tens of millions of domain name email forwarding.
Please note that this setting is manual. You need to provide your desired username and the forwarded email address to me through the private message function of EMD, and I will set it for you in the background. In addition, cloudflare needs to verify the authenticity of this email address.
For anti-abuse considerations, we do not provide an SMTP server for sending emails (which pobox.com does provide).
We are an experienced email team, and have operated 199903.xyz and xyamail.com successively. The latter is a relatively successful project. Thanks to the supportive atmosphere of the EMD forum.

Be aware, this domain was only registered today (Wed 01 May) and the owner has not - at time of writing - verified it.

Also consider, anyone can register a domain and host the DNS with Cloudflare, to make use of their 'Email Routing'. With the additional use of 'Cloudflare Workers' one can set up multiple targets for an address.

Pobox isn't a free service, and as far as I know, never was!

I would be worried that people will enter your address incorrectly, assuming it is pobox.com and not .be. Maybe they are common in Europe, but I don't think I have ever seen an address using the Belgium TLD .be here in the USA. I wonder if there would be deliverability problems?

People will be confused about your domain and pobox.com

In the real world, how many of your contacts would have even heard of Pobox in the first place?

Doesn't matter. Virtually nobody in the USA has a .be at the end of their email address, meaning everyone will assume it is a mistake.

Yes .be is making easily a mistake to .com domain.
But this is a "just for fun" project, not so serious.

Have you ever considered a free email forwarding service akin to duck, addy, or simplelogin?

That need a lot of development which I currently have no time to do with.
But https://pobox.be/ can be reachable for now.

When I click on that link it takes me to the Pobox website:

https://www.pobox.com/

If that is a deliberate choice on your part, it is IMO a questionable practice.

That's true. what I am doing:

1. make a simple homepage like simplelogin.
2. allow users to input their own expected username and destination address.
3. in the background, call cloudflare API v4 to add email routers.
4. allow users to delete their forwarding.

this does need some time before it works.

My personal homepage is here. The purpose of listing it is that at least the person who worked on this project is an industry insider who knows how to run an email service.

For those who registered for email forwarding on https://pobox.be/, please check your mailbox and verify the email confirmation sent by cloudflare. Only email addresses confirmed by cloudflare can receive forwarding emails.
