From Dictionary.com:
“Dis-“ is a Latin prefix meaning “apart”, “asunder”, “away”, “utterly”, or having a privative, negative, or reversing force ( de-, un- 2 ); used freely, especially with these latter senses, as an English formative: disability; disaffirm; disbar; disbelief; discontent; dishearten; dislike; disown. On their home page it's pretty obvious:
Dis`root' "To tear up the roots of, or by the roots; hence, to tear from a foundation; to uproot." |

Discord is an English language word. Your comparison to record makes no sense to me.
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/discord You can see why the founders of that service chose the name here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discord Bill |
