Closing a Gmail account

Does anybody knows if there is any way to close a Gmail account other than letting it expire?

Hi

You sign into your Gmail account, go to Settings, go to Account Settings, and you can do it from there.

Maybe it's just me, but why would you want to close a GMail account or let it expire? Everyone is begging for those invitations and you are declared 'holy' when you give one to someone.

Hmm....

Nope. Can't say I've ever noticed any of that in this forum. But I assume that's because of the prohibition on religious discussion here.

Gee, you and your dictionary

Ok ok, then you are not declared 'holy' directly. But they will keep you in very very very very very very very high regard. I'd say because of the rules here, you are declared 'holy' indirectly.

Happy now??

Me? I'm ALWAYS happy (Okay, I know you could probably spend hours arguing that claim ) But me and MY dictionary? You're the one who seems to want to split hairs over people's terminology.

But aside from the fact that we don't always all use language in exactly the same way, are you aware that there are members of this board for whom English isn't their (or, if you would prefer, "his or her") "first" language?

Why can't one close an account when it have lost its usefulness? You don't need to beg for a invite now. Just request politely will do.

Yes, I am one of them.

But anyway, closing an account seemed so weird to me, because if you ask for an invite, you would want to do something with it.

If you have finish doing something with it, you would obviously close it.

This is soooo true, a few guys said they loved me and were going to build shrines to me after I gave them an invite, so Kalashnikov is totally on target!!

I had a feeling of that. Not because you don't "speak" it well enough that I would have otherwise known, but perhaps between the combination of your name, location, and...well....maybe your apparent at least occassional "hair-splitting".

I guess i don't know whether alexu2000 actually ever even originally asked for a invite, or may have just received one without ever asking for it and just decided to try it and decided he/she didn't like it. Or may have more than one account and just doesn't need all of them. But of course, only he/she can answer this "great mystery" with certainty should he/she (damn I hate English! ) wish to.

Perhaps. But I still say this religious discussion is in violation of the forum rules.

This isn't a religious discussion and thus isn't in violation with the forum rules. The 'holy-declarations' of Susan might be in violation with the forum rules, but then you have to go to those people who declared that and tell them off.
