Why would you think they're not the TYPE for chess? Batman is often called the "World's Greatest Detective".

I'm sure the POKE was just to put the word in a sentence ...

Not to put a damper on the game, I'm wondering if names or trademarks should be allowed? Most word games don't allow names.
So far, with the exception of Hugh, there has been alternative usage for the names (Bill, Dale, Coke).
