Round-up of service reps -- October 2004 (part 1)
These are all the ones I know about, there may be others...
Note that this time around I have deleted all those I know about where the service has died; and where the service is moribund or the rep hasn't visited EMD in far too long (it's usually both), I've marked the service in red. www.bigimap.com: gisarah Bluebottle.com: rob_au, rbpickup, jon_au Bonnag.com: bonnag BurntMail: ckirk, line_fault CentralPets: Roger CheckP3 (email client provider) www.citihub.net: CitiHub Computermail.net: Computermail.net coolgoose.com: coolgoose Cwazy.co.uk: see Zapo.net eeism.com: eartheist (EMD user "eeism" is a user of eeism.com, not a staff member) (N.B. Round-up of service reps -- October 2004 (part 2)
SacMail.com: sacmail
www.Shadango.com : BenKrembs ShanjeMail: stevepierce (doesn't appear to be checking in here any longer, isn't very responsive to customer problems, takes a "blame the victim" approach to joe-jobs... Also, has changed to a new mail system and all accounts need to be reactivated, but many users have reported that the reactivation form doesn't work. Avoid this "service".) slashmail.org: slashmail www.smileglobal.com: smileglobal SnapperMail (email client provider): snapperfish (last post here was some 18 months ago) snooty.com / snooty.net: snooty (only tried the first URL) spl.at: jonpanky (last posted here in June 2002) www.strompost.com: strompost Switchemail.com: rvats SyntheticBliss.com/reflexnet.us: reflex (DNS error on second URL; didn't try first) tuffmail.com: JCapo unlimitedmail.net: carles vfemail.net: Havokmon WizWorks: netwiz xxos.us: xbot, davy51 Zapo.net / Cwazy.co.uk: stevew (only tried second URL) zworg.com: tfishwick (Note to future posters: If the vBulletin URL you post has a spurious empty "s=" parameter, as a lot of the above ones did in the original posts, kindly trim it and the "&" separator which follows, to save a bit of effort.) Perhaps people could help by visiting the URLs where I couldn't connect, and reporting to me if they can connect? Also, testing the URLs I didn't test... (edit: deleted SacMail comment which proved to be inaccurate; I suspect that the popups I got when I visited this site were probably from RetroBlue, although I thought I'd closed all those windows... Also deleted tmicha, as I've transferred them to the other list courtesy of kander's research.) Last edited by robert@fm : 27 Oct 2004 at 04:40 AM. |

Wow, thanks for that brilliant summary, Robert! Even after accounting for the dead services, that means that over 60 active email services are represented by 1+ staff/support people on these forums (of course, to different degrees of active participation). That's a pretty impressive number - I'd never really bothered to count it before...

For whatever it's worth - I am impressed!!
Edwin, do you think those two posts (part 1 and 2) should be sticky? Perhaps with the thread name like "Email service representatives participating in these forums"? |

How about a list of who's who was here before he got deleted from the main list so that future poster will not try to post them again? |
