Ghost folder
I have, for some months, a 'ghost' or unnamed folder visible on the web client. It is situated below the Draft folder. I have tried to delete and rename it but to no avail. Pasting
http://www.runbox.com/mail/list?to_...ed&rename=1 into the url window does not work (and I am not using IMAP). Runbox support acknowledged a couple of months ago it was an anamoly but I have had no further input from them. Any advice would be appreciated. Rik |

You can delete it yourself, you just have to use the folder ID instead of its name:
Code:
http://www.runbox.com/mail/list?to_folder=123456789&delete=1 Edit: Um, obviously you'd have to look at the HTML source to find the ID. But it still won't work because the webapp refuses to delete a folder with an invalid name... :-/ This problem will go away once we change to a new IMAP server later this fall. - Geir Last edited by Geir : 20 Sep 2004 at 11:38 PM. |

tried ...
I tried this procedure and it didn't work. I still have a folder with no name building up email ... and no way of getting into it to see what's there either.

I'll have someone here rename it then - also, remember that you must reply to the support autoreply to get personal help, and I haven't gotten any mails from you, at least.

If you whitelist (or similar in a local client) support at runbox.com and billing at runbox.com, that should do it.
![]() Also, your folder has been renamed (as you probably noticed). Liz |

That's a good question...
Initially, noname folders are created when a client fails to give an error upon moving mails to the Inbox with IMAP access, and instead puts the mail that the user has intended to go to the Inbox, in such a "ghost" folder. And I'd guess that some clients get even more confused, and start using the noname folder as a kind of paralell Inbox... Liz |
