SquirrelMail difficulties in MXroute
After successfully signing into my inbox, I tried to send a message this morning and got an error message. I forgot to copy and paste the error message but can do so upon request.
(I am hoping this thread is a better place than the other thread for this sort of problem.) |

Thank you!
I know we discussed this a year ago, but is authentication still encrypted? Signing in via Code:

It is. You can use https there as well. I'll cut out port 80 again soon, I've been doing some slow rearranging of a few things. One will include moving SquirrelMail but I'll make sure to announce it and redirect when that happens.

I tried signing in a few minutes ago. It said there was an error connecting to the IMAP server (mx1 I believe).

Has anyone tried signing in lately? It's been at least six months since I tried. Eventually I couldn't wait for SquirrelMail to come back up again. Just wondering if everything is back to normal.

Squirrelmail is not being developed any longer - last version was released in 2013. I would slowly start considering another webmail if I was you.

Interesting. Wikipedia says the last stable release was in 2011. In any case, it is wonderful to see how MXroute has persisted in supporting SquirrelMail. Are there any notable risks in using it?

I mean it's open source, if they're keeping on top of security issues and patching their own fork of squirrel to keep it going then more power to them.
